The department of labor is cracking down on 401k administration, the days of burrying the fees in the prospectus and hoping no one reads it are long gone. If your 401k does not have the basics and is not transparent in the fees you risk an audit from the Department of Labor. In addition to this being very inconvienent and time consuming the fines can be as much ad $15,000.00 on even the smallest plans. Talk to your financial planner and make sure your 401k is in compliance as soon as possible.
